DAVID MCLAUGHLIN
I started out studying Acting in Manchester because I wanted to understand the way an actor works and thinks so that I could have a clear understanding of that process.
After three years at college I went on to university to study BA Honours in Filmmaking at Worcester and Wolverhampton University. Whilst on the course I developed my skills, techniques, knowledge and craft of filmmaking in every area of film from writing to editing
For the past couple of years I have been working for DNA Performance Resource as a Director, Editor Cinematographer working with Actors while developing my craft. I am a very ambitious committed and focused to my goals.
At the moment in time I am working on short films because I want to experiment with different genres and styles before I do my first feature film. When I make films of my own I use elements of other films that inspire me mixed with everyday life, because I prefer wherever possible to write and make films from my own experiences.
I am interested in mixing dreams with reality, bringing dreams to life to create something new and different. I am interested in stories that have a meaning or message behind them. I want to make films that make people think.
